The Aam Aadmi Party MLA Atishi has been served an Income Tax Department notice over her 2020 election affidavit declaration, AAP chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said on Wednesday.

Addressing the media, Bhardwaj said that the notice that has been served to her for asking baseless questions on movable assets, fixed deposits and mutual funds. “The notice was served based on Atishi’s election affidavit from 2020 in which she had declared Rs 59 lakh worth moveable assets in the form of FD and mutual funds, which she said were earned before 2012,” he said.

“The AAP thinks this move is shameful and we strongly condemn it,” he said.

Reacting to it, Atishi said, “The Central Government has been using all its agencies to pester AAP and its MLAs, minister, and leaders since the party was formed.”“The Central Government has left no agency behind the leaders of AAP but despite all their efforts in all these years, they failed to find even one mistake or sustain even a single case against any party leader.
