AAP MlA from Chandni Chowk  Alka lamba on Monday filed a complaint with the Delhi Commission for Women against BJP MlA OP Sharma for using abusive language against her. Stoking a controversy, Sharma allegedly called lamba a "drug addict" after she blamed him for the attack.  "I met Swati Maliwal on Monday and apprised her about the matter. I have filed a complaint against Sharma for using disgraceful language against me," lamba said after filing a complaint with the DCW.
DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal said the Commission has received the complaint and will look into the matter. In a letter written by the MlA to DCW chief, lamba mentioned that BJP MlA OP Sharma has used abusive language against several times in the Delhi Assembly too. "On the day of the special session too, he used abusive language against me following which he was marshaled out of the Delhi Assembly," the letter states.
The MlA, in the letter, stated that on August 2, 2015, Sharma allegedly threatened her outside a function at Chandni Chowk and said she is too active and should be careful of her acts. Referring to Sunday's incident, the letter stated, "BJP MlA OP Sharma's man on August 9 on 6:30 am in the morning attacked me with a stone following which my head started bleeding. What is more unfortunate is that the incident took place in the presence of eight Delhi police personnel which they failed to stop."
"The shopkeeper of Shiv Mishthan Bhandar said I deserve it. I simply lost my control and entered the shop and banged my hand on the counter and asked the attacker to come out. I didn't enter the shop with an intention to vandalise it. We were there to carry out the anti-drug campaign," she said. The AAP MlA said during moholla sabhas women told her that they feel unsafe in the area due to ongoing business of drug intake.
Also, lamba said the 30 second CCTV footage was from O P Sharma's shop and it was shot after she was attacked. The footage showed lamba walking towards the counter of a shop and toppling a billing machine. One of her colleagues was seen pushing everything from a table. lamba had undertaken an anti-drug drive at the Kashmere Gate area early Sunday morning. A 19-year-old employee of a sweet shop was arrested after lamba was injured in stone-pelting. The AAP alleged that the shop was owned by Sharma and the attack was intentional.
