Aam Aadmi Party’s youth volunteers launched Dance for Democracy campaign in the Capital on Christmas. A flashmob focused on creating awareness among people about the work done by the party. The campaign was organised by the youngsters of the party at Palika Bazar wherein the members had come from Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and other areas.
Aman Awasthi, a journalist and a young volunteer at the campaign, said, “We perceive AAP as a revolutionary move against the set degrading norms, which had created frustration amongst the citizens.” It is the fresh air of positive people and the transparency in the party which binds even the youth to the party, he added.
AAP has been using innovative means like street plays, calling campaigns and flashmobs for campaigning with the slogan Paanch Saal Kejriwal. Vishal Sharma, Merchant Navy officer and a volunteer of AAP, said, “We want people to comprehend the reason why Arvind Kejriwal had to leave and reflect on the work that the party did in the short duration of its rule.”
Sunena, a participant at the flashmob said that their team has people from varied backgrounds and that they do not handicap themselves in the binds of community, class or religion. The young squad of AAP was accompanied by Jaspal Kaur, Assembly coordinator of AAP at Mumbai who handles the anti-corruption helpline of the party at Mumbai and Kartikeye Khanna, Assembly coordinator at Bangalore who has been working for RTE admissions and reducing bus fairs.
