AAP looking for a safe exit with 'alibi'?

Published on:

Failing on many accounts, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government is perhaps looking for a safe exit with an ‘alibi’ in the form of Delhi Jan lokpal Bill. By introducing the lokpal in its own “format” comprehending that the Congress which is supporting the Government from outside and BJP as an Opposition would vehemently oppose on some of the either grounds, the AAP has strategised the things in its own perspective.

Sources within the party said that they will call it a quit and blame both the major political parties. In a related development, lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung has yet to approve the proposal to convene an open session at stadium as he is out of the country. Insiders in AAP say that the Government is adamant to call a special session at stadium and pass it in front of public to get political mileage ahead of lok Sabha elections in May.

Meanwhile, as IGI Stadium is not available on February 16 for special session of Delhi Assembly to clear Delhi Jan lokpal Bill, the Arvind Kejriwal Government has started exploring alternative venues. Sources said following the goof-up, the administration is treading cautiously and may choose a State Government-owned stadium or place for the meeting. According to sources, the Government may opt for Chhatrasal or Thyagraj Sports Complex that comes under the State Government.
