AAP kick-starts ‘Mission Punjab’

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday that Rs 1,000 per month would be transferred into the accounts of all women in Punjab if the AAP wins the 2022 Assembly polls.

“Today I want to make an announcement. The Aam Aadmi Party will form the Government in Punjab. We will transfer Rs 1,000 every month into the accounts of every woman who is more than 18 years old in the State,” he said.

Announcing his third guarantee to the people of Punjab, Kejriwal, who was in Moga, said that this will be the biggest scheme ever for the empowerment of women in the whole world and will have a monumental impact on their uplift. “Women have to carry the AAP’s baton forward this election and take a stand to convince their family to vote for AAP and a brighter future,” he said.

He gave the example of the national Capital where women travel free in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC’s) buses saying, the AAP made travel free for women while a Chief Minister spent money to buy an airplane for himself.

Attacking the current Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi, Kejriwal cautioned the people about a “copy of Kejriwal” roaming around the State, spreading lies about his work.

He said, “Don’t be fooled by his lies. The transport and sand mafia sit next to CM Channi in events so how can you expect him to work for the good of the people. Give us one chance and you’ll forget these parties who have done nothing but make a mockery out of the people.”

From free water and electricity up to 300 units to opening of Delhi model Mohalla clinics in 16,000 villages and wards across Punjab, the AAP has promised to empower women by providing better health services.

According to AAP office bearers, Kejriwal will visit more various places in the State in the next one month to rally support for the upcoming polls.

The party, AAP was founded in 2012 and emerged as the main Opposition in Punjab in the last election but party leaders had admitted that they were expecting the party to fare better.
