The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched an aggressive campaign ahead of the civic polls where it (AAP) is playing around 1,500 projector shows across the national Capital conveying the message of the party’s supremo Arvind Kejriwal to the public.
AAP convener Kejriwal accused the Congress and the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) of looting the municipal corporation while leaving the city in a mess.
The 20-minute video highlights the work done by the AAP Government in the last two years mainly in the area education, health care, water bills.
“Besides a door-to-door campaign, all our candidates have started the election campaign. And each candidate has been given a projector and an lED to run the video in their respective wards with an aim to highlight the mis-governance in the corporation,” Delhi in-charge, Ashish Talwar said.
“There are around 1,500 such projector shows in a day across the Capital, catering at least 1.50 lakh people each day,” he added.
The 2017 municipal elections will be a triangular contest among the Congress, BJP and the first timer AAP, according to political pundits. The party has already announced 262 candidates of the 272 seats. The election to three municipal corporations of Delhi will be held on April 22, while the counting of votes will take place on April 25, 2017.
Also, the AAP is actively utilising the social media for intensifying its campaign and garnering support by reaching out to more people through WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter.
After suffering an unexpected defeat in Punjab and Goa, the upcoming civic polls would be another challenge for AAP where the party is trying hard to gain momentum. The AAP MlAs also launched a “padyatra” to campaign for the MCD polls last week.
