Terming the reason “illogical” for a hike in the salary and allowances of AAP MlAs, Delhi BJP State president Manoj Tiwari said public representative is not a profession so it cannot be treated as a career.
“It is a dedication to the service of public and one should not expect that the salary & allowances as MlAs will meet their family’s financial needs,” Tiwari said.
“This profession is for a limited period and it is not essential that people will re-elect the person or the
political party will re-nominate the sitting MlA,” said Tiwari, adding, “Thus public representation should not be seen as a permanent profession.”
