The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MLA from Rajinder Nagar, Raghav Chadha on Tuesday said that free WiFi hotspots will be set up at Singhu border for the protesting farmers
“The decision has been taken by farmers' 'sevadar Arvind Kejriwal. We want the farmers to stay in touch with their family. We have identified a few spots to install the WiFi hotspots. This is an initiative of Arvind Kejriwal and the party,” said Chadha, while addressing a press conference.
“We were apprised of the fact that due to poor reception at Singhu border, they were unable to speak with their family. Each WiFi hotspot will cover a radius of 100 metres, and a total area of over 31,000 sq mtr,” said Chadha.
“Whether it’s a soldier guarding our country at the international borders, or farmers who are at Delhi’s borders, an individual’s biggest strength is his family. Shri Arvind Kejriwal understands this strength. We, at the Aam Aadmi Party, understand this strength, and hope that the free WiFi hotspots at Singhu border will help a farmer see his old, aged parent; it will allow him to sing a lullaby to his child, he will be able to speak with his wife, his friends,” said Chadha.
He further said, “Our farmer brothers have had to face immense pain, hurt and discomfort. Our only attempt is to help ease their pain a little, to make them feel a little comfortable. If we’re able to do that, I would consider it to be a success.”
Farmers from various parts of the country have been camping at different border points of Delhi for over a month.
