AAP Govt, discoms looted Rs 800 crore from people: Tiwari

Quoting a RTI report, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Government in connivance with private Power Distribution Companies has looted around Rs 800 crore from the people of Delhi.

“Earlier this year, the Kejriwal Government allowed an unprecedented hike in Per Kilowatt (KW) load surcharge and the Discoms without any prior notice increased the sanctioned load of lakhs of consumers,” Said Tiwari.

“After this arbitrary load increase the Power Discoms in which the Delhi Government is a partner are collecting load surcharge on the basis of estimated 23,000 MW load,” he said.

“When we see this 23,000 MW in an easier calculation it comes to 2,30,00,000 KW and the Government is helping discoms collect Rs 230 crore per month from the people. The issue doesn't end here Government is also giving the private companies an additional subsidy of Rs. 100 crores per month on this account,” said the BJP leader .

Taking a jibe on Power Minister Satyender Jain, Tiwari said that till date the load has gone up to 6934 MW and the maximum load this season can go up to 7000 MW. On this basis we can clearly say that Government has allowed loot of excessive surcharge on 16000 MWs per month.
