AAP eyeing BSP's Dalit votebank?

Published on:

Eight AAP MlAs on Monday met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanding ‘gazetted holiday’ on April 14, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar in the national Capital. According to AAP MlAs, Kejriwal has assured them to look into their demand as soon as possible. The MlAs who met Kejriwal include Raju Dhingan, Manoj Kumar, Girish Soni, Fateh Singh, Rajendra Gautam, Prakash Jarwal, Ajay Dutt and Ved Prakash.  The Delhi Government issues holiday every year on Ambedkar Jayanti. Political experts were of the opinion that the AAP leaders were politicising Ambedkar by demanding gazetted holiday on his jayanti. “If they succeed, entire BSP votebank will be shifted to the AAP,” said experts.
