The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday demanded resignation of North Delhi Mayor Preety Agarwal for the alleged irregularities in tendering process.
Demanding a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities, AAP leader Dilip Pandey said Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari has failed in preventing corruption in BJP-led municipal corporations for which he should tender a public apology.
“The file pertaining to tender is not approved unless the North Delhi Mayor gets commission,” alleged Pandey. The AAP leader said a vigilance probe has also been ordered against the Mayor.
“In order to ensure fair probe into the matter, Manoj Tiwari should either take the resignation of Preety Agarwal or there should be CBI enquiry,” he said. Preety Agarwal refuted the allegation terming it “baseless” and having “no truth”.
While Delhi BJP general secretary and former North Delhi Mayor Ravinder Gupta claimed that it is all a “propaganda” and “conspiracy” by the AAP to divert attention when there are corruption allegations against Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
Preety Aggarwal said deliberative wing has no role in the tendering process and it is all done by the executive wing. It is all done out of politics to divert attention from core issues and corruption within the AAP party, she alleged.
The Mayor also said that she is ready for any kind of enquiry or investigation so that truth must be revealed.
