AAP cries foul over DC office fire in Kapashera

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged foul play in a fire incident that occurred on Friday afternoon at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in South-West district’s Kapashera area. It alleged that thousands of documents pertaining to bogus voters have been destroyed in the incident that took place in the clothes and records room of the DC office.

AAP candidate from the area, Devinder Kumar Sehrawat, alleged that the fire which broke out at the DC office was a pre-planned conspiracy. Sehrawat claimed that he had information that documents related to thousands of bogus voters which were collected over a period of six months were destroyed in the fire. “The fire officials washed away the remains of the documents. We have lodged a written complaint at the Kapashera Police Station. The documents were set afire near the staircase and the officials are saying the fire broke out in the records room,” said Sehrawat.

The police officials, on the other hand, are yet to register a case regarding the matter. “A complaint has been received and investigations with regard to the allegations are underway. The fire was caused due to a short circuit and the site was inspected as well,” said a police official. The Fire Department received a call at around 12.15 pm. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused in half- an-hour or so.
