AAP committed corruption in building rooms in schools: BJP

Published on:

The BJP on Saturday alleged that the Arvind Kejriwal Government has committed huge corruption by paying Rs 1315 crore instead of Rs 989 crore for building rooms in schools in the national Capital.

The BJP alleged that the KejriwalGovernment has  also lied that a total of 6133 toilets have been built, but after investigation, their number turned out to be only 4027.

Delhi BJP leaders also took out a padyatra in all seven parliamentary constituencies, demanding resignation of deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in the liquor scam.

Addressing a press conference jointly with Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta, BJP MLA Vijender Gupta said he had written on July 25, 2019, to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to investigate the corruption behind the rooms built in the schools, demanding its investigation.

Earlier, Delhi Lt Governor has sought a report from the Delhi Chief Secretary over the delay of 2.5 years on part of the Vigilance Department in acting on CVC inquiry report into the construction of additional classrooms in Delhi government schools.

“After which the CVC had sent a notice to the Kejriwal government on 17 February 2020 to introduce the action, but the government kept it suppressed for 30 months without giving any answer.

He said that the architect named 'Babbar of Babbar' who is very close to Satyendra Jain was given this full responsibility and then the three Kejriwal, Sisodia and Satyendra Jain together started looting the treasury of Delhi in the name of education,” he alleged.

Gupta said that the Kejriwal government kept refusing to tell about the architect even after being asked repeatedly by the CVC. “The Kejriwal government had identified 194 schools for the construction of classrooms, out of which no work was done in 53 schools, but the tender money increased from Rs 860 crore to Rs 1315 crore.,” he said.

He said that there are only 40 children in a school in Najafgarh, but the talk of building 12 rooms there was shown in the paper.

Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta alleged that Kejriwal is running a 'series of corruption' in the city and the CVC report states that Rs 989 crore was sanctioned for the construction of rooms in schools, Rs 860 crore was tendered and Rs 1315 crore was spent.

Gupta said that Kejriwal also got the toilets built in the schools counted in the rooms and got the payment done.

“While he also lied that a total of 6133 toilets have been built, but after investigation, their number turned out to be only 4027. The LG exposed the corrupt politics of Kejriwal and returned 47 files as they did not contain Kejriwal's signature.

After all, how long will Kejriwal escape from his responsibilities. Kejriwal's series of scams is coming out one by one,” said Gupta.

“After the excise policy, now scams have come to the fore in the name of making rooms in schools, which tells how long Kejriwal will continue to shine his politics by giving false satisfaction to the people,” he added.
