AAP chalks out strategy to regain Delhi grounds

Working towards their campaign strategy to woo residents of Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to assign one party worker to campaign door to door in 25 houses in the city. The move plans on creating a certain kind of bond between the party and the people through direct interaction.

The party will focus on “door-to-door” campaign this time also. “One party worker will be given responsibility of 25 houses, where he/she will go and narrate achievements and the promises it made and fulfilled during its 49-day rule. The party will focus on booth-level campaign and every booth will have a 10-member team,” said a senior party leader.

The party’s slogan will be ‘Jo Kaha, Vo Kiya’ (We did what we said). The party will try to convince the public that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can’t solve the city’s problems. Party leaders said that though BJP banks on Modi’s popularity, he’s not a solution of the problems the city faces. They have also devised another slogan for the same, ‘Delhi Ka Badlenge Haal. Panch Saal Kejriwal’ (Arvind Kejriwal’s Government will work for five years this time to improve the bad condition of Delhi).

Sanjay Singh, senior leader of AAP, said, “The booth-level workers will also explain the fulfilled promises made by Kejriwal, like slashing the tariff of electricity and water and then comparing it with five-month rule of the Centre in the national Capital. More than 1.10 lakh volunteers will spread the messages. Almost 85 per cent work of booth-level management has been done to undertake this task.”

The plan of the party is to localise their campaign now and pitch Kejriwal against BJP leaders. “The BJP may not declare its Chief Ministerial candidate, but we will project it as a campaign between the probable candidates like Jagdish Mukhi, Vijender Gupta, others and Kejriwal,” Singh added.
