After opening the doors for common people to participate in “Janata darbar,” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called its workers, volunteers and those associated with the party for “suggestions” and discussion on “issues” relevant to the party in a “Karyakarta Milan” (worker’s meeting) on Sunday.
“We have decided to have a Karyakarta Milan every Sunday where workers from across Delhi should occasionally meet. The first such meeting is scheduled on Sunday and will be held across all the 70 constituencies. “Karyakarta Milan” would be held at 4 pm on Sunday evening,” AAP Delhi Convener, Gopal Rai said in a Press conference on Friday at AAP party headquarters.
“In this meeting, all the workers will also bring their families, home food and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will address everyone at 8 pm, across the 70 constituencies. The party has got in touch with the zonal presidents to fix this session with the booth workers directly on projectors,” Rai added.
The party has also announced a helpline - 8588833557 for its volunteers and workers to share their “suggestions” and “issues”. “So far 200 calls have been received by the party on this number while many people have come forward and shared their views through emails on aapdelhi-convenor@delhi.in”.
After facing drubbing in Punjab and Goa Assembly elections and not so up to mark performance in the Delhi civic polls which is regarded as AAP’s bastion since its inception, the party is trying to gain its ground back.
“Our aim is that in the Milan Samaroh (programme), we bring all 14,000 booth volunteer and engage with them. The main aim of this occasion is that all the political party issues, happening within the party should be discussed with the workers and volunteers of the party,” Rai said.
All the MlAs, councillors, office bearers presence would be compulsory in the praogramme. “So through this meeting, the party is establishing a direct contact with the booth volunteers, starting this Sunday.”
From Monday to Saturday, the Janata Darbar would be open for the common people while the Milan (meeting) on Sunday of every month would be to engage with its (AAP) party workers.
