AAP B-team of BJP, says Ajay Maken

Criticising the Aam Adami Party (AAP) for nominating ND Gupta and Sushil Gupta for the Upper House, Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken on Friday alleged that the party is working as a B team of the Bharatiya Janta Party.

He also said the specific candidates chosen by the party indirectly support the policies of the BJP.

Quoting Arvind Kejriwal’s statement in which he had said that the AAP will be a party with a difference, Maken said, “The difference can be seen as the party has named chartered accountant and GST supporter ND Gupta and Sushil Gupta who is not a mass-based but a maal-based leader”.

Maken further said the BJP Government at the Centre had appointed ND Gupta as chairman of the ‘National Pension System Trust’ (NPS) on September 18 in 2015.

“It is clearly visible that he has been sent to the Rajya Sabha by the AAP on the instruction of the BJP,” he added.

“At the inception of the party, Kejriwal had made tall claim to have transparency, internal democracy and zero tolerance to corruption but all these ideals have become history,” he said.
