The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday launched an attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for ignoring not only soldiers but also farmers who are committing suicide because of Centre’s apathy. The AAP held a demonstration against the BJP-led Government in wake of the alleged suicide of Ram Kishan Grewal on One Rank One Pension (OROP) issue.

The AAP protested detention of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday while they were on their way to meet the kin’s of Ram Krishan Grewal who allegedly committed suicide over the issue of OROP.

Senior AAP leader while addressing the gathering at Jantar Mantar questioned the Delhi Police action to prevent Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia.

“This is murder as Ram Kishan Grewal was forced to commit suicide as he was not being listened by the Centre over the OROP issue. The BJP Government has failed to win confidence of people and Armed forces,” said Kapil Mishra.

Few hours after AAP’s protest, the Congress workers also started gathering and started a candle march from Jantar Mantar to Amar Jawan Jyoti to pay homage to the deceased Ram Kishan Grewal.

Army veteran who are on relay hunger strike at Jantar Mantar have their own grievances. BK Mishra, national president of Veteran India told The Pioneer that our self-respect should be preserved and Param Vir Chakra (PVC) awardees should be made brand ambassador of Armed Forces.

Yogender Singh Yadav, a PVC awardee who participated in Kargil war said we are nationalists and respect the Government’s decision but my only concern is that we are treated in our country really bothers me.
