AAP: MCDs not giving safety equipment to healthcare workers

Published on:

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak on Monday accused that the BJP ruled corporations are not showing any humanity considering the health emergency by not providing safety equipment to frontline and healthcare workers.

Pathak said that the corporations are also not providing any safety equipment to the sanitation workers and the workers associated with the fogging work to combat dengue and malaria in Delhi.

“The number of Covid-19 cases has been increasing across the country.

In Delhi as well the number of cases has been increasing exponentially and the Delhi government is working relentlessly to increase the number of oxygen beds across Delhi. During a pandemic like COVID 19, it is important to understand that the Covid warriors are always dependent on the administration. Today the lives of people are getting saved because of the relentless support of the health workers,” he said.

“The Corporations have become so insensitive that they are not providing any safety gear to these Covid warriors and it is really unfortunate,” he added.

Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that Pathak’s statement on non availability of facilities for sanitary workers etc is a total lie.

“Sanitation inspector offices in all 278 wards of three municipal Corporations are well stocked with masks, gloves and soaps for daily use by sanitary workers. Similarly all municipal employees including mosquito breeding checkers are provided with masks,” he said.
