Leaders of Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress visited Chandni Chowk Old Hanuman Temple on Saturday and chanted Hanuman Chalisa.

AAP senior leader and MCD in-charge  Durgesh Pathak prayed for world peace at Lord Hanuman's temple in along with the residents of the area.

Pathak said that the North Delhi Municipal Corporation had demolished this temple of Lord Hanuman but the people have re-built it with their faith. "People choose their government with trust and expectations, we are doing everything possible to fulfill their expectations. The BJP in Delhi has crushed the trust and expectations of the people. The people of Delhi are perturbed by the BJP's rule in the MCD, and they want to entrust the AAP government with this responsibility," he added.

Reacting to this, Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that it is sad that AAP leader Durgesh Pathak has vitiated the atmosphere by giving a political statement after visiting the Hanuman Mandir rebuilt by local people at Chandni Chowk.

The original Mandir at Chandni Chowk was demolished as a part of Delhi Government's beautification plan on Court's order, he said.

The day long chanting rituals was also led by Delhi Congress Vice President Mudit Aggarwal.

The ancient Hanuman temple located in Chandni Chowk was demolished a few days ago the Delhi Municipal Corporation. Talking to media, Aggarwal blamed chief minister Arvind Kejriwal terming him an outsider and thus the Chief Minister has neither any knowledge of the culture of Delhi nor of Chandni Chowk area.

"Even though the people voted him and made him CM, but the truth is that he has nothing to do with public emotions. Both the Delhi government and the BJP's MCD are engaged in manipulating the public by doing politics of mere allegation," Aggarwal said in a Press statement.

Aggarwal also said that the Delhi Congress has started a movement , which led to demonstrations there, recited Hanuman Chalisa and created a mass movement. "The local people pitched in and now the temple has been restored," he added.
