It was an exhaustive battle of nerves for scores of the Aam Aadmi Party supporters who had pinned their hopes on the Congress during the proceedings in Delhi legislative Assembly on the crucial vote of confidence on Thursday.

Besides, the second day of the Delhi Assembly also witnessed unruly scenes, chaotic moments, and a verbal slugfest between the leaders of different parties. The visitors’ gallery was jam-packed with hundreds of supporters curiously looking over the proceedings of the day.

With large groups of AAP workers thronging the Vidhan Sabha to witness the session, the situation became quite unruly making it difficult for the marshals to manage the crowd. A big crowd of media personnel too gathered outside the Assembly since morning for the much anticipated vote of confidence. like on Wednesday, most of the AAP legislators arrived by their private transport, including Chief Minister Kejriwal.

Excitement was at its peak for the party workers who came to witness the important moment. “People have restored their faith in Kejriwal. With just five days of being in power, Kejriwal has already stirred the system. Now the ball is at Congress’ court. DPCC president Arvinder Singh lovely has already expressed that their support still continues, but the situation is still dicey,” said Gaurav Chauhan, an AAP member. Agreeing with MlA from Gandhi Nagar Singh’s point, Chauhan opined, “Kejriwal and his leaders are going too fast with their promises. It needs to go a bit slow and analyse every decision of it.” Commotion was even seen at the media room and the canteen where general public was seen storming in.

There were several who believed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should be given time to prove his capabilities. “The CM has fulfilled the two most important manifesto promises of water and power. We must give him more time to prove that his government is worth it. It is very important that the vote of confidence is passed in the house,” said Jasraj Sokhi, an AAP supporter. The entire media and visitors gallery inside the Assembly house was jam-packed and there was a slight commotion due to lack of space. The Assembly proceedings began on a disruptive note, with BJP legislators objecting to AAP MlA’s and some people wearing signature party caps inside the House. Following a brief moment of chaos in the House, calm was finally restored after the Speaker told the legislators that none of the AAP leaders had caps while the people in gallery could wear anything.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia was the first legislator to speak in the assembly followed by BJP leader Harsh Vardhan and DPCC chief Arvinder Singh lovely. During the entire session, the legislators from the Congress, BJP and AAP took pot shots at each other. The new elected Chief Minister, however, remained silent throughout.
