Delhi Government’s Excise Department has seized 2,880 bottles of illicit hooch during raids recently carried out in the different parts of the national Capital.
“A total of 44,486 bottles of illicit moonshine have so far been recovered this year,” said Excise Commissioner Neeraj Semwal. Semwal also said that a lot of the illicit liquor was non-duty paid in the Capital and was being carried by the accused unauthorisedly. According to the Excise Department, an FIR was registered against Manoj Kumar and Ravinder at Okhla police station for carrying 420 bottles of Haryana- made rotgut.
The Excise Commissioner also said that in the second incident, Rahul and Pushpendra were also booked for carrying Haryana-made hooch. Semwal said raids would continue in the national Capital to check for discrepancies and whether the provisions are being adhered to.
