For aspirants seeking admission at the South Campus of Delhi University on Thursday it was day of excitement and anxiety.
Many students rushed from pillar to the post in disquiet; fulfilling the document requirement, worried not to miss out any document. Some were seen rushing for a photocopy shop in order to get the required number of photocopies to submit.
Of them many were left disappointed for having “miscalculated” their best four percentage thus had to go back to wait for second cut-off list.
“I thought I met the cut-off criteria but I had miscalculated the marks in the best four. Unfortunately the university officials advised me to go back and wait for another list. This is making me really nervous,” said one of the aspirants.
The completely online admission process requires aspirants to first fill out the form through a central registration portal with name of the preferred course and college for which they are eligible. They must then bring a print out of the same to the college and have their certificates verified. After the verification, students can pay the fees online on the DU website.
Admission process began from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm, while the Delhi University server was down all day.
Many students came to college without the admission slip, as it was to come out at the same time as the start of the college admission process from 9 am in a hue to reach well in time and get through with the procedure unsure of how long it would take. The authorities at the campus also had a tough time dealing with the crowd.
Many students felt that the online registration process was too complicated with too many glitches and slow server.
The admission process will continue till July 2 and the second cut-off list will be announced on July 4.
