A day after a 28-year-old married woman had alleged rape by a man in a moving car in east Delhi’s Madhu Vihar area, police found no proof to substantiate the charge.

“The victim’s statements are contradictory and therefore, we are finding it difficult to establish the sequence of events. No visible injury marks were seen as alleged by the victim,” said a police official. Sources also revealed that the police officials will not make any arrest in the case and will move court seeking cancellation of the FIR. A case of rape and physical assault was registered at Madhu Vihar police station on Sunday night.

Earlier the police claimed the locals had spotted a woman crying near the Anand Vihar bus terminal. They informed police about it. In her statement to police, the victim alleged that Surajbhan had called her to loni flyover on the pretext of getting her a job in a factory. The victim claimed the three accused came in a white car and picked her up. Surajbhan allegedly raped her in the moving car. They later dumped her near Anand Vihar bus terminal and left.

The alleged accused has been identified as Surajbhan (35) while his friend who was in the car during the time of the incident has been identified as Raisuddin. The identity of the driver is yet to be established.

The East district police on Monday detained the accused men which threw up no leads. Sources revealed that the victim’s medical examination also did not confirm rape.
