The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has issued 954 challans in the last three days for violating Covid-19 protocol.
SDMC Mayor Anamika said that the civic body has taken various important steps to contain the spread of Coronavirus. “Stern action is being taken against those not following Covid related guidelines. Challans are being slapped for not maintaining social physical distancing and not wearing masks,” she said.
Anamika further said that the SDMC during the weekend curfew has intensified its sanitization drive and has sanitized nearly 2,000 places including public places, markets, bus stops/stands, banks premises, hospitals, health centres/units, police stations, vacant lands, etc. The drive was carried out with the help of Safai Sainiks, field staff and other front line workers.
“The corporation has already started lifting bio-medical waste from the homes of positive patients. Dozens of auto tippers have been deployed in all wards for this purpose. To remove the bio-medical waste, the Civic Agency has also issued helpline numbers for each zone,” she said..
