84 ha public land palmed off to pvt Gzb builders at cut-price

Municipal corporation vice-president and local councillor Rajendra Tyagi, in a Press conference, claimed over 84 hectare (ha) municipal land in Ghaziabad spread over a dozen villages valued at Rs 1,532 crore has been palmed off to Wave City, Crossings Republik and R.E.D mall by Uppal Chadha and other developers at cut-price — circle rate being below the current market standard. “Public land cannot be sold to private builders. land reclaimed can only be made to develop public utility

services, Government offices, Government hospitals, schools and other public offices. In Ghaziabad, precious land was reclaimed and its ownership transferred to private builders. It is in gross violation of urban planning rules, which clearly state such land can only be transferred from one Government agency to another, not a private builder,” claimed Rajendra Tyagi. Since the complaint is likely to be quashed at the Government level, Tyagi has rattled the cage of the Governor of UP.
