Two foreign nationals were molested by a group of eight people in South Delhi’s Saket area. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were heading to Select City Walk when the incident occurred on Monday afternoon. All the eight accused were arrested from their residences in Malviya Nagar and all the accused are South Delhi-based property dealers.
Police said that one of the victims is from Germany and another is from South Africa. “Both the victim are staying in Sarvapriya Vihar for the last six months and working with an MNC at Gurgaon,” the officer added.
The incident occurred on Monday around 2 pm, when both the victims were heading to Select City Walk to meet their friends, but on their way, the accused waylaid them after stopping their Fortuner car in front of them. “All the accused were in an inebriated condition and they started playing Holi with them. When the victims tried to go from other side, they stopped them and started molesting them,” a senior police officer said.
“The victims managed to raise an alarm. Passersby rushed to their aid. Seeing this, the accused sped away in their Fortuner,” the officer added. The victims made a call to the police control room (PCR) and after receiving the PCR call, the police rushed to the spot. On the basis of the victims’ statement, a case was registered under Sections of 354 (molestation) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Saket police station of South Delhi. “The victims noted down the registration number of the getaway vehicle.
