A 63-year-old man was found murdered inside his residence at Begumpur area in outer Delhi on Tuesday night. A piece of cloth was shoved inside his mouth. Police suspect the involvement of his daughter-in-law as she was absconding after the incident.

The deceased, identified as Tejram Yadav, lived with his wife, son and daughter-in-law at Begumpur village. On Tuesday, his son and daughter-in-law were at the first floor. At about 9.30 pm, his son-in-law came to the house only to find him lying dead. He immediately made a PCR call and the body was taken to the hospital.

Police said initial probe suggested that he was attacked on the head by a blunt object and strangled to death.

Police have sent teams to arrest the daughter-in-law. “There are no sign of ransacking in the house which points to the involvement of an insider and robbery motive has been ruled out,” said a police officer. A case of murder was registered at the local police station and further investigations were on.
