The officer said the child, unaware of what had happened to her, came home and remained unusually quiet. It was only on Tuesday that the girl complained of pain in her private parts that the mother took her to the hospital.

The incident was reported on Tuesday afternoon when the girl told her mother about her pain. After which the girl was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors found that she has been sexually assaulted. Based on the written complaint and medical test of the minor girl, we registered an FIR. His family told us that he used to drive an e-rickshaw however, due to his drinking habit, he stopped driving the rickshaw and stayed at home, said police. “His family members claimed that since he used to drink all the time, he was inebriated at the time he committed the heinous crime,” added the officer.
