An elderly man said to have mental health issues was stabbed to death by unidentified bike-borne assailants in south Delhi's Ambedkar Nagar. Police said a case of murder has been registered and efforts are being made to arrest the culprits.
60-year-old Ram lal, was out for a walk near his home in Madangir locality when he was stabbed several times in his stomach and chest on Thursday night. A local resident informed police about the man who lay in a pool of blood on a street after the attack.
A passer-by told police that two-three men attacked the man and escaped as he collapsed. Victim Ram lal was rushed to the nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries even after doctors tried hard in resuscitating him.
Police is scanning closed-circuit television footage from the area to identify the murderers.
