In a high-level meeting chaired by Durga Shanker Mishra, Additional Secretary, Union Urban Development Ministry, the digitalisation of building plan sanction was discussed on Friday.
During the meeting, SDMC Commissioner Puneet Kumar Goel stated that out of 630 plans 553 building plans have been sanctioned online. 284 Sanctioned plans have been digitally released under the new system commissioned with South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).
Goel said the procedure of sanctioning building plan online in a total digitised and paperless manner, is now getting a wider acceptance in the city as the sanction is being issued within 14 days, depending upon the risk based categorisation.
He said the residential plans are being released within an average time of one week, though some of the residential plans have been released even within 48 hours. The maximum time being taken in residential plans is 13 days.
The timelines may be further reduced after stabilisation of the system.
The SDMC is the first in the country to grant the first ever sanction of building-construction permit in a total digitised manner and several such cases are being sanctioned by the SDMC with digitally signed sanction letter, and free from paperwork hassles.
Along with Mishra, the meeting was attended by the Joint Secretary department of Industrial Policy and Promotion PK Gupta and the SDMC Commissioner Puneet Kumar Goel along with other senior officers.
