The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested five robbers who killed their associate and his wife after decapitating and setting their bodies on fire at two separate areas of Western UP.
The accused committed this gruesome murder fearing that their companion may rat them out to police. The accused, identified as lokesh, who was involved in a robbery in Madhu Vihar, was arrested from Seemapuri underpass on April 3. “Further his two associates Rahul, alias Kamal and Shiv Kumar were also arrested from Wazirabad. This was followed up with arrests of two more absconding robbers Gulab Malik and Salman Malik from the same area,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
Yadav said that apart from a number of robberies being solved with their arrest, the interrogation of Rahul revealed that he had beheaded a couple in August last year in the outskirts of the Capital. “After stealing an iron rod-laden truck from Kapashera in August last year, Rahul got in touch with his associate Hajari to sell the stolen items through a scrap dealer Kaleem, alias Bhura and Subhan, alias Kalu,” Yadav said.
The police, however, busted their plan and confiscated the truck laden with filched iron rods, which was stationed at Kaleem’s shop. Fearing the next move of police, Rahul deemed it necessary to eliminate Hajari as the interrogation of the scrap dealer would have led the police to Hajari who, in turn, would spill the beans. “Rahul hatched a plan and asked Hajari to come to his hideout along with his family on the pretext of providing him a safe hideout,” said the officer.
Hajari followed the instructions and went to accused Rahul’s hideout with his wife and two-year-old daughter. Rahul first took Hajari to a secluded place near Chaproli in UP’s Baghpat district and sedated him with drugs before beheading and burning his body. Rahul then returned to his hideout and took Hajari’s wife and her daughter to Dadri where he killed Hajari’s wife in the similar manner. Rahul then abandoned their two-year-old girl at a roundabout near Noida and fled the spot.
