Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar accused the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of indulging in blame game regarding the relocation of the JJ clusters along the 140-km long Railway track in Delhi.
Kumar said that around 48,000 jhuggis on railway tracks were facing the hammer of demolition. “The BJP which rules the municipal Corporations of Delhi and the Kejriwal Government in Delhi were playing cheap politics as they used the jhuggi dwellers only as their vote-banks,” he said. Addressing the media, Kumar said that it was due to the relentless effort by the Congress that the Supreme Court stayed the execution of its own order for the demolition of the jhuggis till the next hearing of the petition filed by the Congress.
“On the one hand, the BJP and the AAP were aiding and abetting the demolition of the JJ clusters and on the other hand, they were masking their real face to tell blatant lies to the poor jhuggi dwellers,” he said.
Meanwhile, Delhi Congress leaders held a demonstration at the Rohini Zone headquarters of the Municipal Corporation and burnt effigies of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and conveyed their demands to the governments.
Party vice- president Jai Kishan accused the Delhi Government and the BJP-ruled municipal Corporations for setting aside the interest of the Corporation employees and dalits. “Both the Delhi government and the centre are anti-dalit and harassing them as well. All the dalit workers, sweepers and government employees should boycott both the parties and join the Congress in unison.
