A 45-year-old man was beaten to death by unidentified people in South-West Delhi’s Najafgarh area, police said on Monday. Meanwhile, his wife claimed that he had not paid the loan debt to someone and as a result he was murdered.
The victim has been identified as Puran Singh, who is a resident of Jai Vihar, Phase-I in Najafgarh area. On Sunday, he left for work but failed to return, said officials, adding that on Monday morning, his wife Urmila learnt that Singh’s body was found in a plot in the area.
One passerby noticed that a body was lying in a plot after which a call was made to the PCR. When the team reached the spot, the face of the victim was smashed and injuries suggested assault. During probe, he was identified and his family members were informed.
