A dead body of 36-year-old woman was found lying in a very rancid condition inside a locked room in South Delhi’s Chattarpur area on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Anita, 36 native of Patna, Bihar. After completing her studies in Delhi, she got a job and continued working here. Anita’s sister went to Chattarpur to visit her and found that nobody came out to open the door. She also observed a very foul smell coming from the house after which she informed the police.
The police have registered an FIR under dowry death case against the absconding husband, Diwakar of the victim. According to cops, Diwakar worked as a senior technical engineer at an IT firm in Gurugram.
Anita and Diwakar, also from Bihar met each other at a matrimonial site and fallen in love with each other and decided to get marry.
According to police officials, Anita’s family was not happy with her decision but agreed after their daughter’s insisted to marry diwakar. The couple got married on 3rd December 2017 in Patna. After which they shifted to Delhi.
Moreover, according to the cops, Anita has earlier frequently called the police helpline number 100, and told the police that her husband was abusive and would hit her daily demanding dowry from her. A case was also filed with the Delhi Woman Cell.
leaving Anita alone in the house, the accused went to his sister’s place at Mathura on 14 June. The victim was staying alone in the apartment. The cause of death is still under investigation.
Additionally, the police informed that the victim last spoken to her family on 20 June.
“A case against the victim husband has been registered. Postmortem of the victim could not be done as the deceased body of the female is in very poor condition. Further, we are waiting for the Viscera Report for further investigation,” said a police official.
