In view of the recommendations of the Delhi High Court appointed three-member committee headed by Justice Anil Dev Singh, the Delhi Abhibhavak Mahasangh (DAM), a parents’ body on Monday, demanded that the Government should comply with the report of the committee and reimburse the excess fee taken by the school authorities.
“To ensure that justice is delivered to the aggrieved parents, the erring school authorities are brought to book. It must also be seen that parents of the students who had passed out from their respective schools in the past five years are identified and adequately reimbursed as per the court orders. If implemented effectively, the court order could bring much needed relief to the families that are already bearing the brunt of increasing inflation in their daily lives,” said Vijender Gupta, president of DAM. The HC panel has recommended refund of the excess fee levied by 80 private schools on account of the Sixth Pay Commission. The matter was referred to the court in 2009 by DAM. Gupta has moved the court in 2009 seeking a stay order on the fee hiked by the private schools exorbitantly.
“The recent interim report submitted is fifth in the line since 2011 and has so far asked 330 schools to refund the excess fee. However, the recommendations of the judicial panel have not been acted upon by the Government,” claimed Gupta.
