Athree-year-old Samreen has became the epitome of kindness and humanity after she gifted a mask to Head Constable Satpal Singh to protect him from air pollution.
Impressed by this small yet warm gesture of Samreen, HawaBadlo, an independent people’s movement and supported by Gas Authority of India limited (GAIl), launched a Twitter campaign known as #GiftAMask.
HawaBadlo team will gift masks to Traffic Police as a token of gratitude each time someone tweets with the hashtag : #GiftAMask.
Along with Twitter, HawaBadlo also produced several YouTube videos creating awareness about the rising air pollution on roads. They also showed a small video enacting Samreen’s deed.
The video has been trending all over with over 225K views and is continuing to win hearts and minds of Delhiites with the increasing number of views every day. The movement has gained a lot of support from the people and hundreds of users have already tweeted the message in support of the campaign, said social media watchers.
HawaBadlo is spearheaded by a Gurgaon-based startup Social Cloud Ventures with intent to change the air quality level and make country more breathable.
The movement aims at motivating people to commit towards air-friendly habits like switching to greener fuel like natural gas, CNG/electric vehicles, carpooling, and use of public transport.
