According to police, the incident took place around 10 pm on Thursday. Thangsolian (21) was found dead at home on Thursday night. He had gone to watch a football match at Ambedkar Stadium. Prima facie, it appears he lost his balance on a flight of stairs and hit the ground. He died due to excessive blood loss. He was drunk and doddering, which could have hastened his fall. Thangsolian had recently enrolled for a course in stenography at an institute in RK Puram.
“It comes across as a case of accidental death as there is no third person involved in the incident. Also when the sequence of events was recreated, it appears he died due to the impact of the fall,” said a police official. The body has been sent for a post-mortem exam. Police officials are also questioning neighbours and friends.
