Three robbers who had looted and sodomised an auto-driver on Friday, have been arrested by the Dwarka district police. The incident occurred when the complainant was returning from Sahyog Vihar, Matiala after dropping a passenger on Friday at around 10:30 pm. The accused were traced by a police and were arrested on Sunday.
“The victim alleged that on Friday, he was stopped by three people while returning from Sahyog Vihar, Matiala. They snatched the key of his auto rickshaw, his mobile phone and Rs 700 after which, he was allegedly taken to a deserted house at knifepoint and two of them sodomised him while the other one stood there. After some time, the victim stated that he was moved to another isolated room where he was assaulted and then the robbers fled with vehicle,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka District) Anto Alphonse stated.
“The victim informed police and staff from Bindapur police station immediately reached the spot. On the statement of complainant, an FIR under section 394 (dealing with voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), section 377 (dealing with non-consensual sexual acts, section 342 (dealing with wrongful confinement), section 365 (dealing with abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) and section 34 (dealing with acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered in Bindapur police station and investigation was taken up accordingly, the DCP added.
The victim told police that he overheard the robbers’ names from their conversation. He narrated the robbers name to the police, of which Head Constable Surrender was aware of Chhota Chor and Manish. He showed their photographs to the victim from the data base of previous criminals and bail released criminals prepared at the police station level. The complainant immediately identified them,” DCP said.
“On the basis of the information received Suraj (21) resident of Uttam Nagar, New Delhi was arrested from Tikona Park. On his instance, the other two robbers identified as Shiv Kumar and Manish (22) were arrested. The robbed auto rickshaw, one knife used to commit the crime and Rs 700 were recovered,” DCP stated.
