Three more arrests, including two students, in the murder case of NRI Anmol Sarna was made on Thursday. It has been revealed that several students from the Delhi-NCR region are part of the drug cartel, which provides psychotropic substances for rave parties.

The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested Nehul Swaroop (22) and Bhuvan Sharma (22), both undergraduate students of a renowned university in Noida. Swaroop is pursuing Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) and Sharma is a student of Commerce in the same university. The third culprit, Dushyant Singh, a resident of Noida, is a college dropout. He is supposedly the kingpin and in cahoots with Swaroop and Sharma, expanded his network to scope out more students.

Following the interrogation of the trio, it was revealed that lSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) swallowed by Anmol and his friends were brought from China through a corridor service. A senior police official said that they had managed to get a lead from messages saved on Anmol’s cell phone. They used to chat with each other via a chat app. “The chats between him and his friends clearly indicate that they had planned on ingesting drugs at the party. Anmol and his friends procured drugs from Nehul,” the official added.

During investigation, it was revealed that on September 11, Anmol and his friends had gone to Noida to procure the hallucinogen from Nehul. “Nehul was in his early 20s and plied friends with the narcotic. Nehul had received consignment of the psychedelic drug from Bhuvan. The main peddler Dushyant used to smuggle contraband from overseas,” he said.

His interrogation revealed that he usually paid around $500 per consignment, which was imported from South Asian countries like China, Hong Kong and Singapore. The drugs were brought via courier. “Dushyant would target students between the ages 20 and 25 years and trolled them on social networking sites like Facebook and also contacted them via Whatsapp. The bank statements of Dushyant will be verified to see the amount of foreign currency being exchanged,” added the official. A few of Nehul’s friends claimed that they haven’t been in touch with him for a while. “We didn’t even know he had been arrested,” said a friend.
