BJP candidate and former Army chief General VK Singh alleged that Ghaziabad parliamentary constituency has about 2.6 lakh fake voters on the electoral list despite the district administration having been apprised of such bogus names.
Speaking to the mediapersons, the former Army chief said the Election Commission has been informed about the step-motherly treatment towards his party by of the district administration. Giving examples, he said BSP workers disrupted the opening of his party office at Dhaulana in the constituency.
Similarly, the SDM did not allow him to attend a ritual function at a house. When he inquired, the SDM said Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed at the venue. When he contested how the Sec144 can be imposed on private place, the SDM insisted that the place was covered under the rule, he claimed.
On this occasion the former Army chief released a local manifesto in which he assured a communal harmony along with development in infrastructure, metro road transport, electricity, woman safety and development in slum areas.
