A 25-year-old nurse, working with the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, committed suicide in Sector 51 in Noida on Thursday night.
The deceased, identified as Parampreet Kaur, a resident of ludhiana, ended her life by injecting poisonous vaccine herself at her hostel. She had been reportedly running depressed for long time and was in deep frustration. The body of Parampreet has been sent for post-mortem and a case has been registered in Sector 49 police station in this regard. No suicide note was found from her room so far.
Police said that the incident was reported late night when her roommate informed police that Parampreet was unconscious. She was immediately rushed to the Apollo Hospital at Sector 26 where she was declared brought dead. Her family members, who live in ludhiana, were informed about the incident. An injection mark on her left hand was also spotted and injection tube was found lying on her bed.
“Though it seems a case of suicide but we are investigating the incident thoroughly. We have sent her body for post-mortem and are questioning her friends and family to ascertain the exact reason of her death. We have also sent injection tube for test so we could know about the poison in it,” said RK Mishra, Circle Officer-II, Noida.
According to one of her roommate, when Parampreet did not reach hospital on Thursday, her seniors enquired and ask why Parampreet’s cell phone has been switched off. “When I approached at her, she was not in conscious state. After raising suspicion, I called police immediately. She was running depressed for long time and was not sharing any thing to anybody,” added the roommate.
Mahinder Singh, deceased’s father, said, “His daughter had no rift with any one and was living a happy life. Even she did not talk about any problem when she had called me on Thursday morning while she had been sharing everything with the family. I don’t find the reason why she finished her life in such manner.”
