The East Delhi Municipal Corporation has set up a 24X7 helpline number for the convenience of people during the monsoon season. The helpline can be used to report about waterlogging, collapse of building and its part, falling of trees or its branches.
East Delhi Mayor Anju informed that the control rooms are equipped with portable pumps and other required equipment and machinery. Departmental trucks are kept stand-by in both the zonal offices for attending to any emergency call. The staff from the engineering department (Civil, electrical and building), environment management services and horticulture department are made available at the disposal of in charge control room.
Mayor also informed that the list of important telephone Nos. and addresses of officers are available with all concerned officers at control room.
The officers are required to keep the phone switched on even at nights.
