The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Wednesday sealed 23 spa centres for operating without valid trade licence.
A senior Corporation official said a survey was conducted in this regard by the Public Health Department in localities of Prashant Vihar, Guru Hari Kishan Nagar, Rohini Sec-7, 8, 9,10,11,13,14,15,18 etc.
"Around 50 such trades had been identified which were operating illegally in these areas. A team of NMC officials visited the areas and sealed 23 spa centres as per DMC Act, 1957," he said. He further said the drive against the unauthorised units will be continued.
Apple Day, Blue Heaven, Queen Beauty, Mapple, Cyprus, Cloud, Driftwood are among the spa centers sealed in Rohini and Prashant Vihar.
"The NMC team faced a stiff resistance from the owners, forcing officials to initiate in police presence," he said.
The official further said a detail survey in other areas is going on and notices are being issued to several shops, restaurants and eateries.
