A 22-year-old student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the wee hours of Friday in Delhi's South campus, police said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, south district, Chinmoy Biswal, said the deceased girl has been identified as Vandana. She was a student of Mayapuri Aishwarya college and was studying to be a lab technician. She had scribbled a message on her left hand in Hindi, the senior police official said. "She wrote that she was responsible for her death and nobody should be questioned about it," the Additional DCP said.
The police were informed by the woman's cousin Dhirender about the alleged suicide at around 5.50 am. She belonged to Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh, and had been living in Delhi for the last four years. The police are looking into the motive. Her body has been taken to AIIMS for a post-mortem and her family members have been informed, the police official said.
