A 22-year-old man was brutally murdered in full public view in broad day light by a group of three or four men led by his brother-in-law in Outer Delhi's Mangolpuri area. Senior police officers of the Outer district said that the victim had received more than half a dozen stab injuries all over his body.

Pankaj Kumar Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) said, "The accused, Roshan (21), brother-in-law of the victim along with his accomplice Sharawan (32) has been arrested."

"The youth was killed by his brother-in-law because the victim had brought back his sister home," said a senior police officer.

"Over the past few days, the accused and his wife, who is real sister of the victim, were facing trouble in their marriage. Due to which, the families were having some problem. We suspect that the victim, Ravi was killed because the latter was furious with the youth."

Police said that the incident took place on Monday afternoon when Ravi, the victim was heading towards the market with his sister-in-law.

Roshan, the accused along with his friends came and cornered Ravi. They threw chilli powder in his eyes and started thrashing him. When his sister-in-law tried to intervene, she too was beaten. A meat shop owner, known to the family of Ravi, tried to stop the attackers from killing but he too was left injured.

Eyewitnesses present at the spot informed police that the accused first had a heated argument with Ravi. "Initially, we thought that the group of men is throwing colours on Ravi. However, when Ravi started screaming, they held him and stabbed him several times with the knives.

By the time, the sister-in-law alerted the other family members, Ravi was bleeding profusely. He was taken to nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

A senior police officer said, "The victim, a resident of Mangolpuri, used to live with his family. The accused, Roshan had called in his friends to murder Ravi. In the preliminary investigation, we believe that it is a pre-planned murder,"
