lIVE MASCOTS TO CHECK URINATION IN OPEN
In order to maintain and upkeep the New Delhi area neat and clean, NDMC has deputed live mascots in all the 14 sanitation circles to check and curb the open defecation and urination. The decision has been taken by the Council taking into consideration the forthcoming Swachhta Sarvekshan 2017 being conducted by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India by January 4, 2017 onwards. The special attention is being given to the venerable spots like JJ Clusters and along railway tracks under the jurisdiction of NDMC area to curb the practice of open defecation and urination. NDMC has already extended the facilities of Public Conveniences by constructing PTUs and Mobile toilets. The Ministry of Urban Development has already declared NDMC as 100 person Open Defecation free area.

While addressing the Sikh Youths and Party’s OBC Morcha and Deli traders on the issue of Mobile App Banking, Delhi State BJP president Manoj Tiwari said the traders are the means of the development of country and they play leading role in the development of the nation. “Trading system is also subject to change every day, the traders’ trade with new traders and in different circumstances hence I believe that the effort being made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create a new and clean economic system will be made successful first of all by the traders of the country,” he said. He also said that he will lead a Jattha of the Sikhs to participate in the special function being held in Patna on the occasion of 350th Birth Anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.
FREE COMMUNITY HAllS FOR SDMC STAFF
In a move to provide relief to its staff, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has decided to provide free booking of SDMC community hall for marriage, religious and other purposes. SDMC Mayor Shyam Sharma said the corporation has given its nod to the new booking policy for the community halls. Booking will be allowed to those widows who are getting financial assistance from the SDMC, for the marriages of their daughters/ orphan. The booking will be allowed in all community halls except (A) category and AC Community halls. Free booking is allowed to the permanent and retired employees all three corporations for one day for birthday/ marriage / engagement of their son/ daughter or self. In case of AC Community halls they have to pay 50% of the booking rent. The hall shall also be provided for the retirement functions of the employees for one day.
