BJP holds meet to encourage mobile banking
For the purpose of encouraging Mobile App Banking, Delhi BJP has planned to work at every level of the party organisation. In this context a meeting of the BJP Delhi Pradesh Mahila Morcha was held on Wednesday in which women office bearers working at various levels of party organisation and women councillors participated. The meeting was presided over by Pradesh Mahila Morcha president Kamaljeet Sehrawat and organisation general secretary Siddharthan, along with general secretary Rekha Gupta, provided guidance to the women workers.
YMCA holds media workshop for special children
The Media had a firsthand understanding of difficulties faced during an interesting workshop with special children at the Nizamuddin Centre of YMCA on Saturday. The workshop was organised to mark the World Disability Day. Besides the media workshop, special children also participated in a nukkad natak and sports event. YMCA Nizamuddin is running Institute of Special Education, a school for special children since 1980. And sport events organised by the Centre in the early eighties laid the foundation of present Special Olympic Games. According to Sarvjeet Singh, Associate General Secretary of YMCA, “we not only take care of special children in our school we also go to communities to make people aware of the difficulties such children face.’’ On the occasion YMCA also launched a specially designed handbook for the challenged.
l-G felicitates 27 gallantry award recipients
lt Governor Najeeb Jung on Wednesday felicitated 27 recipients of gallantry awards, distinguished services medals and battle casualties. The recipients, including two battle casualties, seven gallantry awardees and 18 distinguished service medallists, were felicitated and honoured at Raj Niwas. Jung released the ‘Flag Day’ brochure of Rajya Sainik Board of the Delhi Government and urged everyone to contribute generously to the cause of rehabilitation and welfare of ex-servicemen and their families. “It is a great honour for us to felicitate the awardees who have rendered distinguished service to the nation. Their sacrifices are many and so are our debts to them,” he said at the event.
