losing patience (and patients)

In order to get his tri-monthly health checkup, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Sunday morning. However, the premier medical institute turned into a fortress for the Prime Minister.

During his visit, Modi underwent various preventive tests. According to sources in the hospital, the reports are mainly normal but it will still take a couple of days for some test results to come. Modi went for a routine medical checkup around 8 am to AIIMS. “Modi underwent routine preventive test and left around 11.15 am,” said a hospital official.

These three hours that Modi spent in the hospital were however extremely inconvenient for the patients and hospital staff as the hospital was cordoned off and kept out of reach for common people.

Several hours before the arrival of the PM, a major section of the hospital was cordoned off by the security agency. Security personnel were visible at every corner of AIIMS and its vicinity. All shops including chemists were shut down. The hospital looked abandoned but the chemist store inside the AIIMS campus was open.
