‘Sedentary lifestyle causes kidney stones’
As the rising cases of kidney stones among the children and infants are reported, doctors suggest that a sedentary lifestyle where kids stay glued to television and skip meals is a reason for such diseases. “Children especially in metro cities prefer eating junk food which has high salt level due to which there is water retention and hence no flushing out of toxins which is one of the major reason for this metabolic dysfunction,” said Manoj Jain, Urology consultant of the RG Stone Urology and laparoscopy Hospitals, who performed an operation on two kids with such problem with his team. One of the patients was a three-year-old from Seelampur; the other patient was a five-year old from Ghaziabad with similar complaints.
