Delhi Cabinet has decided to set up a 200-bed multi-specialty hospital in Ambedkar Nagar area in South Delhi with an estimated cost of Rs149 crore. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit informed that at least 50 per cent of the beds would be reserved for maternal child healthcare.
“It will be a modal multi-specialty healthcare facility in the area with departments like internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics and orthopedics,” Dikshit added. The Health department has engaged National Building Construction Corporation, a Government of India Enterprise, for the construction of the hospital. It is expected to complete within 24 months, Health Minister A K Walia said.
